AHF to Conduct a Consensus Development Conference for “The Meningococcal Epidemiology in Latin America.”
AHF is conducting a consensus conference scheduled in October on “The Meningococcal Epidemiology in Latin America.” FIDEC will also be a part of this one. The consensus statement will address the following questions:
- Discussion and update of the meningococcal epidemiology in Latin America. Incidence of the disease and prevalence of different serogroups.
- Critical revision of the pharmacoeconomical studies estimating the burden of the disease
- Diagnosis. Rol of PCR for bedside diagnosis.
- Treatment.
- Prevention. Immunization strategies. From high-risk groups to universal immunization.
